About Carmen A. Romeo

A life defined by conviction, compassion, and character.

Carmen Anthony Romeo (1929–2023) was a devoted husband to Dorothea Mae Romeo (1930–2023), with whom he shared over 70 years of marriage. Together, they raised six children: Daniel, James, Joseph, Patricia, Jeffery, and Thomas.

Moral Compass: Sins of the Father draws from Carmen’s real-life experiences, with select fictional elements woven in for narrative depth. At its heart, the book reflects the unwavering values, compassion, and strength of Carmen—as a physician, a father, a husband, and a man of deep moral conviction.

This project began six months after his passing, brought to life through Carmen’s own writings and recordings, his son Daniel’s reflections, and the expertise of ghostwriter Tammy Kling. It is a heartfelt family collaboration, created to honor Carmen’s legacy and ensure his story—and his compass—lives on for future generations.

It was easier to have the husband killed then go against the Catholic Church and get divorced. I will never understand or accept this twisted Mafia morality that my father embraced.
